3 Guitar Hero Aerosmith for the Playstation 3 (2008)
When Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was announced early in 2008, I just rolled my eyes and thought “great Aerosmith is jumping on the Guitar Hero bandwagon”. I must admit I wasn’t very excited about this game.
When the opportunity to pick this game up for half price (with wireless guitar) for the Playstation 3, I couldn’t pass it up. Oddly enough, a game that was just an afterthought at one point for me, has quickly become one of my favorite games for the Playstation 3.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith does a good job of mixing Aerosmith classic songs along with tunes from bands that influenced, or were influenced by Aerosmith. Unlike some of the past Guitar Hero games, the majority of the songs are master recordings by Aerosmith, and the original bands that recorded them. This makes the gaming experience a much more enjoyable one.
There are also a bunch of live interview clips with Aerosmith, talking about their random history. I enjoyed seeing those brief clips in the game.
The songs in this game are a lot of fun to play, and the guitar dual with Joe Perry is a blast. If you are an Aerosmith fan, you are going to love this game. If you have never listened to an Aerosmith song in your life, this game will make you a fan. I highly recommend this extremely fun and addictive video game for the Playstation 3.

1 Guitar Hero Encore – Rocks the 80’s (2007)
Sooner or later, you had to know that a big hair version of Guitar Hero had to hit the stores.
Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80’s is the third installment of the Guitar Hero Series.
This game has the best track listing yet, with 16 tracks of 80’s metal, plus 14 additional tunes from the 80’s!
If you have played Guitar Hero II, you will find that the club scenes are exactly the same, which is a bit of a disappointment.
The game itself is quite fun, although a bit too easy (in the easy mode). I was able to whip through the complete song list in a couple of hours, hitting 5 stars on every song, in the first or second try.
I have been playing this game since it first came out, and have enjoyed each new installment. Guitar Hero Encore, Rocks the 80’s is the perfect game for the 80’s hard rock fan.
I can’t think of a better way to get in touch with your inner rock star!
