George Lynch on Eddie Trunk Live
Did you hear the George Lynch interview on the Eddie Trunk Live show on XM41 last night.
George was pretty animated, and very honest with his answers with Eddie last night.
George mentioned that they tried to do the Dokken reunion this year, but it didn’t come together. He mentioned that he is still close to Jeff Pilson, and he doesn’t want to do a Dokken reunion without him. Lynch said that Pilson will be busy with Foreigner until at least 2010, so don’t expect a Dokken reunion before then. He also said that Mick Brown is up for it as well, when or if they decide to do it.
Eddie mentioned that Don was holding out for the kind of money for their reunion where they could rent separate buses for him and George Lynch.
George was pretty animated when he heard that. He said that the bus rentals cost so much money that the bus companies end up making all of the profit off of the tours. He thought it was nuts that with them all being in their fifties that they couldn’t get along. He said for that matter, they could just throw him in a trailer on the back of the bus, with a couple of solar panels, for him and his guitar. Throw him an occasional hamburger and he will be fine.
Eddie asked him what he thought about the new Dokken album, Lightning Strikes Again. George said he has listened to the clips of it, and it sounds good. He said that Don is trying to revisit the formula of music that Dokken was known for. He doesn’t want to play that style of music, and it frustrates his fans. He said that is what 50% of the fans want to hear and Don is making a bunch of people happy.
Lynch also mentioned that he is working on a distribution deal for his new CD with London LeGrand, Souls of We. He hopes to have it out for purchase later this summer. (You can buy it now through I-Tunes, and Amazon.com as downloads.) He also hopes to tour this fall with Souls of We.
The Lynch Mob tour is about to start up soon, and he seemed pretty excited about that. He said with the addition of Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza, not too many people will be upset about Mick Brown and Anthony Esposito not playing with him and Oni Logan.
He also mentioned that a new Lynch Mob record is not out of the question, as he has received offers to do another record.
This interview will be available through I-Tunes for free soon. I highly recommend that you check it out. It was one of the better ones on Eddie Trunk Live.

I had the honor of seeing Lynch Mob at the House of Blues in L.A. 5 years ago. There I stood, 5 feet away from the original Guitar Hero that made me pickup the axe back in the early 80’s and attempt to play some Mr. Scary (needless to say I was scaring my parents away). Rock on Mr. Lynch! Thanks for the rock and riffs that you continue to roll!
Right on. I thought John Levin did a great job on guitar on the new album, pity Don’s voice tarnished what could have been a great album.Don act’s like a 15 yr. old in an old man’s body…..what an ass….George rocks…
Jeff, Amen to you brother! I couldn’t agree with you more.
i really don’t understand what George is trying to accomplish?! I mean I watch recent clips of him playing at various guitar clinics (namm 2008) and various others and he is shredding the shit out of the axe with a vengeance but yet when it comes time to lay something down for his fans to purchase it’s mellower non-metalized stuff that has no direction-like souls of we. I don’t get it at all I mean with games like guitar hero storming the country i would think he would come up with some anthem like kick-ass tunes to show he is still the best but he chooses to record music that has no target audience. If he wants to come up with mellower technically sound music that’s fine but don’t release iT to the fans, record it for himself and he can throw it on when he feels the need to hear perfectly pitched guitar playing but the fans don’t want it- they want Tooth and nail and til the living end and mr. scary and wicked sensation!! GEORGE SPEAKS OF A REUNION OF DOKKEN BUT THEN DOESN’T WANT TO RECORD ANY NEW MUSIC THAT HAS IT’S ROOTS. AND WHY HE WOULD want to get together with a clown (Don Dokken) that slanders him at every chance is beyond me!!! The guy talks shit about Lynch every time he gets interviewed. and besides that fatboy dokken can’t sing to save his life anymore-his voice is a joke on the album Lightning strikes again and when live he is nothing but echoed and fixed by machines- bottom line is that don dokken sucks BIG TIME !!! So George get your act together- you look like your 35 so start playing like your 35- get yourself a killer rock vocalist and give the people what they want – some kick ass rock tunes that gets the adrenaline flowing and leave the slower technical slow crap to the has-beens!!!!oh and don dokken have another twinkie-slob!!
Hi, just found this browsin the net. George just did work with a local band where he resides, and supposedly the reviews of the guitar work are really good! Supposed to be the most metal thing he’s done in a while. I checked a clip of it out and sure enough it’s good! Too bad it’s only a song or two. Look up the metal band ‘Abita’.
