Bon Jovi – Lost Highway (2007)
Some CD’s should come with yellow and black warning labels that say, “Play at your own Risk!”
Lost Highway is the CD that I knew I would have trouble listening to. The band has thrown away their hard rock sound, for a pop rock / country hybrid that sounds nothing like their past CD’s.
I found this CD completely devoid of the great hooks that Bon Jovi has been known for. If anything Lost Highway is a boring sellout that will probably be played to death on multiple radio formats. If Bon Jovi continues down this musical highway, I doubt they will be covered at the Hard Rock Hideout any longer.
Judging from the 63 used copies that I saw at Amazon today, Bon Jovi fans are discarding this disc faster than Mercury Nashville can print them.
There is one song that almost sounds like old Bon Jovi. If you listen to one song, play We Got It Going On. Load that song on your hard drive, then take the CD outside, and use it for a Clay Pigeon. You will get more enjoyment out of it that way.
The song Make a Memory is getting massive amounts of play on the radio right now, and has hit #1 on VH1’s Top 20 countdown.
I just don’t get it. I find this song, and disc boring. It is hard for me to believe that this is the same band that put out Slippery When Wet. If I was the guitar player, I think I would find myself in rehab. I would have drink myself into a coma, if I had to play these incredibly monotonous tunes.
Don’t waste your money on this CD. There are far better discs out there than this one.

I sure hope they rock out on the the next one Billy. This was just way too disappointing to me.
I kinda like this one.Good lyrics, cool guitar solos.
Not the best and certainly not the worst.
3.5/5
Oh take it easy fellas..did we have any crush part 2 or any SWW part 2.
This album, just a diversion and i’m sure the next album would be a kick ass rock n roll record
If Lost Highway is growth, then Bon Jovi needs Weight Watchers.
It won’t grow on me. I prefer rock music, and this release has nothing to do with rock.
Bon Jovi needs to remember their roots, and they don’t stem from Nashville country music. They are from New Jersey, and they forgot how to rock apparently.
You Guys suck!
You have to understand that a band as old as “Bon Jovi” needs to show growth. Imagin if the just kept on rehashing “slipery when wet” over and over again! Good on them for trying something new, this is real tellent right here!
If you just give the album a shot it really grows on u. Its amazing, they still have it, and thats why this album and there new song “(You want to) Make a memory” has gone straight to No.1! Right were it belongs! Buy this album!
Bon Jovi Rules!!!!!
4.5/5
Enjoy…
imho Bon Jovi havn’t done a full album worth hearing since New Jersey. 3-4 tracks per album after that. I heard the lead off single to this played ‘live’ on a UK chat show and it was boring. I wouldn’t even waste bandwidth downloading this. Like you say go back to Slippery When Wet. Personaly there’s a couple of songs on there WAY overplayed now so I’m going further back to the underrated 1st album!
I lost faith in Bon Jovi with KEEP THE FAITH but I had some hope when they released ‘It’s My Life’, I thought that was a good comeback tune. I saw that tour and remembered why Bon Jovi is on my personal shit list.
When I heard that Jon was steering the band in a country flavored direction, I knew the band was done for good. I’m all for trying new things but this is a total about-face. I heard some songs online and I’m not interested.
If I owned this, it would probably sit side by side with Metallica’s ST. ANGER and Nirvana’s NEVERMIND as the worst albums I have ever heard.
Bwaahahahahahhahahaha! Clay Pigeon!
I know, this CD sucks ass. I listened to it online and decided to pass. I can spend $15 on something else, thank you very much!

I didn’t expect to benefit in any way from this new BJ CD. Reading this review, I find I was wrong. And, it didn’t cost me anything !!!
You rock.
Harsh words there HRH!
But, we trust you implicitly when it comes to music….
So have a nice day Bon Jovi….but it won’t be with us!
