Stonerider, Endeverafter, Airbourne – Lexington, KY Concert Review
Four hard rocking bands took the stage Tuesday night at Lexington, Kentucky’s, Club A1A.
Uncle Aleister’s Rock ‘N Roll Revival was the first act to take the stage. I didn’t know much about this band, but I expected this to be a cover band. Much to my surprise, and to my liking, the band played all original material. The ages were obviously quite varied in this 4 piece band, but did a pretty good job warming up the small crowd that arrived at the club early.
Atlanta, Georgia’s Stonerider was up next. I recently reviewed this band’s CD, Three Legs of Trouble (Review can be found in the TOP 10, on the HRH Sidebar), and was pretty familiar with their music. I have been spinning this disc a lot as of late, and have really been enjoying their music. I haven’t heard any feedback about the band, so I was not sure what to expect by their live show.
Their set included the tunes, Rush Hour, Baby, Back From the Dead, Bad Lovin Never Felt So Good, Juice Man, and Wild Child. They were pretty good live, although their set was a little too short in my opinion. I would like to catch these guys playing live again.

Endeverafter took the stage around 10 P.M. I was anxious to see this band. I was already quite familiar with the playing of Endeverafter’s Michael Grant. I have heard nothing but good things about these guys from the people who were lucky enough to catch them on the 2006 Poison and Cinderella Tour.
The band played quite a few songs off of their new CD, Kiss or Kill, including, Tip of My Tongue, All Night, Road to Destruction, Next Best Thing, Baby Baby Baby, and I Wanna Be Your Man.
I had high expectations for Endeverafter, and they exceeded them. They were very good live. With a bunch of good songs at their disposal, Endeverafter could really take off, if radio will give them a chance and play a couple of their songs.
I honestly thought Endeverafter was going to be hard act to follow, as good as they played. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Airbourne took the stage around 11 P.M. or so. They were introduced by WKQQ’s Dead Air Dennis and Monkey Boy. Monkey Boy had a small jab at Airbourne comparing them to AC/DC. I guess this was his attempt to be funny. Nonetheless, say what you will about this Airbourne’s obvious influences, they rock as hard as the bands that inspired them.
I have seen hundreds of live shows, and I don’t recall very many shows, where a band put on a more energetic show than the one Airbourne did Tuesday night. 48 hours later, and I am still blown away by the live show that I saw.
Joel O’Keeffe is an amazing front man. He knows how to get the crowd fired up, and does a good job keeping them there. Bassist Justin Street is going to need a neck brace from his constant head banging, hair spinning bass licks. David Roads does a pretty good job keeping up with Joel O’Keeffe note for note. They way these guys run around stage during a set, they must be exhausted from all of the energy they put out. Airbourne’s set included the songs, Stand Up For Rock N’ Roll, Diamond In The Rough, What’s Eatin You, Cheap Wine, Blackjack, Girls in Black, Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast, Runnin’ Wild and Hellfire.
On a negative note, this was a low dough show. For a mere $10.00, you got to see four great bands, and at maximum their was only 100 people in attendance. Lexington, KY is a big college town (UK), so I would expect that a great rock show would like this would attract more people. This club should have been packed. Sadly, it was not.
