12 What is Rockin’ Your Friday?
This week, with no shock and awe, I have been listening to the new Van Halen CD, A Different Kind of Truth. I have probably played this one twenty times over the last week. The sound of this record to me is pre-1984 Van Halen. I miss Michael Anthony’s vocals, but for the most part, even though this is old material for Van Halen, I love this CD. It is far heavier than I expected.
I have also been spinning the new CD, Feel The Power, from Blessed By A Broken Heart (review coming soon), and Foxy Shazam’s The Church of Rock and Roll.. Some other things that keep finding their way into my play list is Chickenfoot III, and Ace Frehley’s Anomally.

My play list is always diverse…… diverse in a hard rock sense. I never venture out of the rock world as there is TOO much great music, old & new to listen to. I pride myself on the fact that I have never listened to a Lady Gaga song, or any of the crap that is force fed down the throats of radio listeners.
This week I have been listening to the Electric Boys album, And Them Boys Done Swang a ton. This one still sounds great months after its release, and I am convinced that is best album they have ever done. “All Lips and Hips” might have put them on the map, but this is the album you should be listening to! I saw a brief blurb last night that is album is soon be slated for an official U.S. Release. That is great news for rock fans everywhere!
I just received the new Wallner/Vain CD in the mail, and will be posting a review soon. This CD rocks! In fact, it rocks so much, I had to break out my copy of Blue Murder’s debut CD. (Carmine Appice and Tony Franklin play on the Wallner/Vain CD) I have been giving that one a few spins as well.
I have still been giving Alice Cooper’s Welcome 2 My Nightmare quite a few plays. I know a lot of folks have mixed feelings about this CD, but I love it.
Two of the CD’s I have been listening to in the car this week are Deep Purple’s Slaves & Masters, and ZZ Top’s Recycler. I have also broke out some classic Def Leppard….. High N’ Dry, On Through the Night, and Pyromania.
