AC/DC Finishes New Album!

AC/DC has finished recording its new album and is currently mixing the effort for a late 2008 release, the group’s vocalist Brian Johnson revealed this morning (Tuesday, April 22) during an interview with Washigton D.C.’s DC 101 radio station. Johnson has apparently left the studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young have remained with producers Mike Fraser and Brendan O’Brien in order to complete work on the CD. Brian also stated that the band will next work on getting the artwork done and take care of the promotional activities in connection with the release, to be followed by a tour.

According to Reuters, the new album will be AC/DC’s first for Sony BMG’s Epic Records label, which reissued the band’s back catalog a few years ago.

O’Brien is also known for his work with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, PEARL JAM, AUDIOSLAVE and VELVET REVOLVER, among others.

  8. We can definitely hope it will happen Scott. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one pushed until 2009. Their has been little said, and even less hype to promote it so far.

  12. Oh yeah, one more tour would be BITCHIN’!!!!! AC/DC does rule,but thier age is creepin’ up on ‘em.Angus is 53, Brian will be 61 in Oct. and amazingly they Fuckin still rock hard as hell!!!!!!

  13. This will be their last album, and last tour. Spoken to Brian a few times, once 4 years ago when they were recording in Vancover at Brian Adam’s studio, and again 18 months ago when he was staying at Whittlebury Hall near Silverstone race track in Northamptonshire. On both ovccasions Brian said they would do one last big world tour, then bow out, maybe with the odd one off festival apperance. Rumours are strong they will be headling the 2009 Download Festival (Formerly Monster of Rock at Castle Donnington) in England. Expect the album to be released in the UK very late 2008, but dont be surprised if its pushed back to 2009. They have been in and out of 3 differect studios since Stiff Upper Lip to record an album, all to no avail. However,,, another strong rumour is they have enough material from these recording sessions to hold back enough material for one more follow up album to the one due to be released. Makes sense…..
